You may remember this familiar face as "Classy" from VH1's Real Chance of Love. Kaylana Reese is certainly that and more. This 5'7'' beauty is well on her way to making a big imprint in the entertainment industry. Check out the interview we had with her below.
What's your name and the city you represent?
Kaylana Reese out of Orlando, FL.
And what are your measurements?
36C-27-39
How long have you been in the industry and what types of modeling have you done?
I would say I have been modeling since January of 2007. I have done magazines (King, Smooth Girl, Source), runway (BET Rip the Runway in 2007 and 2008), as well as event appearances, etc.
What outside the modeling world that sparks your interest?
I am getting myself ready to finish my second degree as a nurse. I put it on hold for the modeling game and now I think I'm ready to do both at the same time. Other than that, I enjoy working out, eating, and meeting new people.
You know some females will go to a few shoots and have their pictures taken and all of a sudden they're "models". What's your take on that?
I think a lot of females fail to realize the work involved in making a name for yourself. "Work" being taking care of yourself, networking with the right people, having common sense about the game, and being committed to ride the rollercoaster. I have talked to a lot of ladies that quit trying after a few months because they thought getting a national magazine cover only required being pretty. The industry is very much about politics, timing, location, etc. Your good looks can only get you but so far.
What's your definition of a true model?
That's a tough question. I guess at the very least, a true model is someone who's a complete package. A model is someone who can command attention for more than one reason (large booty, big breasts, etc).
Do you plan on making modeling a career or secondary venture?
Modeling is my secondary. I do it because I enjoy what I do and seeing my hard work pay off. When I no longer enjoy it, I won't do it anymore.
Any current projects that we should be on the look out for?
Currently, I don't have any magazines going to print but I do have my goals and I'm talking to important people. That's all I can do. Remain consistent and something is bound to come from your efforts.
Who do you favor musically?
I am a fan of Lil Wayne, T.I., and Kanye West. I do like other people's music but I am hard pressed to find a song from those three that I don't like.
Have you ever thought of doing videos or strictly print?
I don't limit myself to one side or the other. I would love to do more videos which can also lead to more magazine work. I am interested in getting more into the commercial side of things so I have signed with a local agency and I'm anxious to see where that may take me.
One thing we always see in the magazines are questions about what a lady's "type" is. Inquiring minds want to know...
My type is a genuinely caring person who is strong minded and strong willed like I am. They have to have goals and actually have a plan to attain them. Everything else is negotiable.
So if a guy approached you in public how could he get into your comfort zone?
He'd have to be confident but not cocky and just be himself. I don't want someone to act the way they think I would want them to because first, they usually guess wrong, and second, all acts come to an end. Just be you.
Anyone you'd like to give a shout out to?
Oh this could get me in trouble :) I'd like to shout out Mona D, Shevy, and DJ Nasty. My family and God, himself. Shout out to Tune - you are amazing. Don't forget to visit me at www.KaylanaReese.com
