I don't know about you all but I'm tired of seeing all these ads for the Obama coins. The advertisements try to pull you in by saying that you need to own "your piece of history" and often market these coins as rare, limited edition collectibles that could increase in value over time. These Obama coins were already being sold on TV by dealers and small non-governmental mints, even before he was elected. These colorized coins featuring portraits of Obama appeal as collectibles because Obama has stirred the emotions of many Americans like no other Presidential candidate in U.S. history probably ever has. From state quarters to "Presidential Inaugural Dollars", its been bad outside. I think they look cheesy as hell, not to mention FAKE, and maybe I'm just being paranoid, but I don't think the government is really ready to accept this sudden change. Maybe they don't want to make an Obama coin. I think they should. These colorized coins are worthless anyway and should only be looked at as souvenirs. I wonder if they will make a legal tender note for Obama or an actual coin. Guess we'll have to see the outcome of the next four years.
When you mix emotions and investment decisions, your pocketbook is nearly always a loser.
