The #1 Has Fallen

Well it's over Cavs fans. The not-so-supportive cast didn't show up AGAIN. One person can only do so much. The Finals will not feature that Kobe vs. LeBron showdown so many wanted to see. I just want to know how much moolah Vitamin Water and Nike lost with those commercials.

So for LeBron will it be Cleveland, New York, or some other team in 2010? To be continued...

Early demise for the Cavs?

So here we are down 3 to 1. Only eight teams have come back and won a series when down by that much. Eight. So it's pretty much win or go home for Cleveland come game five. As far as hype is concerned, sure LeBron's had a lot of hype surrounding his debut and all but look where he went. Cleveland was 17-whatever when he came on and six years later they're contenders in the playoffs. So yes, he will have hype, he will have overly played commercials, and he will LOSE games. No one said the man was incapable of losing. So let's look at the scenarios because you don't just put up 40+ damn near every game and lose.

Game 1: 49 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists (L)
Game 2: 35 points, 4 rebounds, 5 assists (W)
Game 3: 41 points, 7 rebounds, 9 assists (L)
Game 4: 44 points, 12 rebounds, 7 assists (L)

Now from what I see when I watch these games, the bench is not doing as well as they should be. The offense is playing off of LeBron and Orlando knows it. If you take away the energy of the team they can't function. So if LeBron isn't getting consistent looks or defensive stops then the Cavs seem to shut down. It just seems to me like they're standing around and waiting to see what he'll pull off. I hope Mike Brown can find some alternative source of offense because he's not getting it from his current lineup. So we look forward to game five and see what happens. Either way LBJ is still MVP and HOPEFULLY there's always next year.

Game 2: Cavaliers 96, Magic 95

Now being hailed at as the "greatest buzzer-beater in Cleveland sports history", (move over MJ) King James hits the shot of his career. Looks to be 2 classic series over the next few days.

Passion Pit

Passion Pit - The Reeling from phantomcolor on Vimeo.

So I'm around the net e-cruising and I come across this video. Lately I've been finding some good songs from commercials for some reason. JCPenney, Bacardi, etc. Anyway this is "The Reeling". I'm digging how they manipulated the visuals.

Artist Dolla Gunned Down in LA

According to the LA Times:
An Atlanta-based rapper was fatally shot at the Beverly Center mall parking garage Monday by a suspect who fled in a silver Mercedes, according to police. Officers later detained a "person of interest" as he approached the ticketing area at Los Angeles International Airport armed with a gun.

The shooting occurred around 3:10 p.m. in the valet waiting area of the popular Westside mall, sending nearby diners diving for cover.

Dolla, a rapper whose real name is Roderick Anthony Burton II, was shot in the head while he and another rapper, D.J. Shabbazz, stood near the mall's La Cienega Boulevard entrance, according to Dolla's publicist, Sue Vannasing. A friend who was with the rappers at the Beverly Center as well as a Los Angeles Police Department source also confirmed his identity to The Times.

Game 7: Lakers, Rockets

We'll see Sunday night. But one thing we can count on is the Cavaliers are once again headed to the Eastern Conference Finals. But against the Celtics or the Magic?

Page (featuring Drake) - Still Fly

After a year and some change, Page finally drops the video for the single. Nicely put together, but the whole rapping in the clouds thing seem too cliche for me but it's still a dope video.

King James reigns as MVP

James totaled 1,172 points including 109 first place votes, from a panel of 121 sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada. Players were awarded 10 points for each first-place vote, seven points for each second-place vote, five for third, three for fourth and one for each fifth-place vote received.

Rounding out the top five in voting for this season's award are the Los Angeles Lakers' Kobe Bryant (698 points), Miami's Dwyane Wade (680), Orlando's Dwight Howard (328) and New Orleans' Chris Paul (192).

As part of its support of the Most Valuable Player Award, Kia Motors America will donate either a new Borrego SUV or Sedona minivan on behalf of James to The Urban League of Akron. Kia Motors is presenting a brand new vehicle to the charity of choice of each of four 2008-09 season-end award winners as part of the "The NBA Performance Awards Presented by Kia Motors."

James, the first Cavalier to win the award, led Cleveland in scoring (28.4 ppg, second in the NBA), rebounds (7.6 rpg), assists (7.2 apg, fourth), and steals (1.7 spg, eighth). Since the 1973-74 season when steals became an official stat, James is the fourth player to lead his team in scoring, rebounding, assists and steals, while also leading his team to 50-plus wins (Larry Bird 1985-86; Grant Hill, 1996-97; Kevin Garnett, 2002-03). The 6-8 forward helped Cleveland to an NBA- and franchise-best 66-16 season, a 21-game improvement over last season (45-37), marking the 12th time an NBA team has reached 66 wins in a season.

James led the league in triple-doubles (seven) and became the 12th player in NBA history to record three-consecutive triple-doubles (March 7, 10, 12). In his sixth season, James became the ninth player in NBA history to have at least five consecutive 2,000 point seasons.

Since the NBA began voting on the Eastern and Western Conference Player of the Month separately in 2001-02, James is just the second player to receive the award four times in one season (Kevin Garnett, 2003-04). James was voted the Eastern Conference Player of the Month in November, January, March and April. James was also named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week seven times (Nov. 10, 17; Dec. 29; Jan. 26; Feb. 9; March 16, 23).
