The greatest NBA player becomes the first ex-NBA player to become sole owner of an NBA team. Bobcats.com sat down with His Airness to see where his mind was at with the new business.
The SXSW Music and Media Conference attracts musical acts from around the world to downtown Austin this year. Click to see the schedule for your favorite act.
The King of Pop has pulled a fast one from the grave. Michael Jackson's estate has secured a $250 million deal with Sony Music. Since his death in June 2009, he's sold over 31 million albums. That's more than your favorite rapper did last year.
I looked into my friend base on MySpace and it occurred to me that there has been a large fluctuation of these internet celebrities. I receive daily requests from aspiring rappers, models, and just your everyday anybody looking to increase their "friends". These profiles usually consist of flamboyant images/self-made quotes/myspace angles/etc. With over 1 million+ people on MySpace, I've come to the conclusion that most of these people can't possibly be as well-known in their cities as they claim to be on the net. Mind you, its easy to weed out the real ones but a good 90% are just living out some kind of fame fantasy through an alter-ego to satisfy their lack of attention in life. Everyone at some point has had thoughts of a rich and famous lifestyle, but why do you feel the need to take pictures of yourself holding up money you probably just cashed from your paycheck you got from slaving at a burger joint? Then there's some people who just blatantly have the urge to update their every move (e.g. Twitter) and just want to gain followers so that they feel they have an audience. But do you actually care? Whatever happened to the philosophy of privacy? I like to keep my personal life separate from the internet for fear of all the crazies in the world. Every now and then you'll run across some underage kid taking pictures half naked to get attention or some random chick who idolizes Nicki Minaj so much that she dresses as her on Halloween with some form of her moniker in their headline. This duplicity from MySpace and Twitter has lead to the creation of these megalomaniacs and they need to be stopped. I can understand the whole "fake it until you make it" but a good portion of that 90% won't.

Now wouldn't that be something? Two of the sport's biggest names in one of the country's greatest venues. Of course this is all based on rumor but still can you imagine how much moolah Mayweather could pull in for this fight? Not to mention the PPV revenue. If this doesn't entice FMJ to get in the ring I don't know what will. He loves being in front of an audience and I'm almost positive that Yankee Stadium would draw the biggest crowd of his career (50,000+). I know after last night's performance all the Pacman fans are hyped and think he's become some kind of boxing savant but I would never bet against Mayweather.
This game went down to the last play literally. Almost had a relapse of the past two major losses that cost us championship games. I don't know what's going on with the offense but credit the TBDDITL for clamping down on Iowa during their OT possession. I got a preview of the new custom uniforms Nike gave the team and they look clean. Too bad they only get to wear them once. And who was the guy outside the stadium who kept yelling, "Jim Tressel's a genius!" after the game? Tressel better stop playing so conservative with our offense or last night's game won't smell so sweet come New Years.
My FAVORITE commercial on tv now for obvious reasons. Props to State Farm's creative director. This ish got me addicted to money. Who made that beat anyway?
